Docker's $250 Cloud Sandboxes credit: what it covers and what it does not

New Docker Agentic Platform accounts get a one-time $250 credit for cloud sandbox compute. Here is what Docker's own terms say about the deadline, the card, the expiry and the cost.

A container running inside an isolated cloud sandbox

Quick answer: Docker is giving new Docker Agentic Platform accounts a one-time $250 credit for cloud sandbox compute, instead of the usual $25. It needs a valid credit card, covers sandbox compute only, and expires six months after you claim it. Read the terms below before you sign up, because the deadline is shown differently on different pages.

Everything below comes from Docker's offer page unless another source is named. Docker says it may change or end the offer at any time.

What Docker is offering

Docker's Cloud Sandboxes run the same isolated microVM sandboxes as Docker Sandboxes on a laptop, with the same CLI, but on compute that Docker manages, as Docker announced. The point is to keep a coding agent running without keeping your own machine open.

The offer: "New Docker Agentic Platform signups receive a one-time $250 compute credit in lieu of the standard $25 credit. Limit one per user and account."

The terms that matter

Question What Docker's page says
Who qualifies New Docker Agentic Platform signups. One credit per user and account
Deadline The English page says the offer is valid through 31 January 2027, 11:59 PM PT, with signups from 22 September
Credit card Required at signup. It is charged only for usage beyond the credit
What it pays for Sandbox compute only, billed by the second from start to stop. Setup, idle time and retries all count
What it does not pay for Model API usage and agent subscriptions, which their providers bill separately
Expiry Six months after you claim it. Unused credit is forfeited and never charged
Transfer Non-transferable, no cash value

About the deadline

On 31 October 2026 we found two answers. Docker's English page says 31 January 2027. A Japanese copy of the page as summarised by a search tool, and the aggregator aipromonow, say 31 October 2026. We cannot tell which is current, so if you want the credit, sign up today and check the date on the page you see.

What $250 buys

Docker gives this example for the Medium size (4 vCPU, 8 GB, $0.280 per hour): about 890 hours, which it describes as four agents in parallel, seven hours a day, for thirty days. The smallest size, Micro (1 vCPU, 2 GB), is $0.070 per hour, about 3,570 hours. Check the sizes and prices on the page, because they can change.

The credit lasts six months, so it only helps if you use it in that time. Two hundred and fifty dollars of compute that you leave idle is forfeited.

Who it suits

  • Developers who run AI coding agents and want them to keep working while the laptop is closed.
  • Teams that want to try isolated, disposable environments for agent runs before paying for them.
  • People who already pay for a model API: remember that cost is separate.

It is not a general hosting credit. It will not run a website or a database for you, and it does not pay for model usage.

Before you claim it

  1. Check you have a card that accepts online payments in dollars. Without one you cannot sign up.
  2. Note the date you claim, and the date six months later.
  3. After the credit is used up, the card is charged for further use. We found no spending cap in what we read, so stop sandboxes you do not need and check your usage page.
  4. Keep API keys out of shared sandboxes and treat anything you run in one as disposable.

Bottom line

A real, documented $250 credit for agent sandboxes, with a card requirement, a six-month clock and an unclear last day. Use it for a specific project, not as free general hosting.
